About Us

The Gulf Coast Process Technology Alliance (GCPTA) is an organization of the Process Technology (PTEC™) education providers and their business, industry, and community advisors cooperatively working toward their common goals. The GCPTA is an active partner with the Center for the Advancement of Process Technology (CAPT).

Vision

Industry's candidates of choice come from a sufficient pool of qualified degreed process technicians.

Mission

The mission of the GCPTA is to provide leadership, resources and connectivity to the mutual benefit of our industry and education partners.

The GCPTA has expanded its mission to communicate to industry the benefits PTEC graduates can bring to the bottom line. Once we achieve that goal, we believe industry’s demand for more trained, skilled workers will spur the limited supply of PTEC graduates.

Objectives

• Develop standards for PTEC programs that assure quality graduates; regularly evaluate conformance to those standards.
• Define and execute campaigns that promote PTEC and GCPTA resulting in increased student enrollment and industry participation.
• Evaluate and improve the GCPTA curriculum and supporting educational materials to meet the needs of our industry and educational partners.
• Employ a budgeting process to address GCPTA needs and generate revenue to meet those expenditures.
