Subcommittee - Funding - Steve Ames
The Student Workbooks for the Safety, Health & Environment and Introduction to Process Technology courses are priced at $20.00 each, (sold in lots of ten ). The Instructor Manuals for Safety, Health & Environment is priced at $160.00, Introduction to Process Technology at $195.00 for each guide. These books are now ready for purchase. Subcommittee - Rules & Bylaws - Merv Treigle
The Gulf Coast Process Technology Alliance has received its non-profit organization, 501 (C)3. Bylaws will be amended for officers positions. New position of TREASURER.
Subcommittee - Public Relations - Karen Baird
Next Career Expo will be Friday, February 11, 2000. Next newsletter, Issue 8, will go out in November.
International Process Technology Alliance Conference will be Tuesday, September 28 at the Fairmont Hotel in New Orleans Louisiana. For more information, please contact Valerie. The API Conference is Wednesday, September 29 - Friday October 1, 1999. For hotel information, please see the GCPTA web site at: www.processtech.org. Graduates with two-year degrees and are looking for a job, please send a disk copy of resume formatted in Microsoft Word 6.0 or better to:

These resumes will be posted on the GCPTA web site. Graduates must be willing to relocate. Please create a privacy agreement form for all graduates to sign if they would like to have their resumes posted on the Internet. Make sure to send a signed copy of the privacy agreement form with the disk.
Texas Skill Standards Board - Cathy Williams-Foster
The advisory committee will report to the Texas Skill Standards Board. Anyone interested in membership for this subcommittee, contact Cathy at 713-215-3262 or at cfoster@mail.mainland.cc.tx.us.
NSF Grant Update - Joanna Kile
Four new positions will be funded by the NSF Grant. The new positions are: Program Assistant (Full Time)- Amy Stark, Senior Instructional Designer (Full Time) - Leslie Hunt, Curriculum Director (Full Time) - Cathy Williams-Foster, Curriculum Developer (Half Time) -Suzanne Kolozzy, Distance Learning Instructional Technologist (Half Time) and a Graphic Arts designer are still needed. Also, PT1, PT2, and PT3 will need Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). NSF Grant activities start September 1, 1999.

LAAP Grant
(Learning Anytime Anywhere Partnership) - GCPTA has been awarded this grant. The grant is for the amount of $921,000.00 and will start September 1, 1999. Program Director - Joanna Kile

Alliance Video
Alliance Video by LarMar Video Productions Inc. - Call 225-869-8015 or by e-mail larmar@stargazer.net. Alliance will get 10 copies of video free, the video will be sold to Alliance members. This video has been sent out to 75 area schools (high school and jr. high school). This was funded through grant money provided to the GCPTA by Eileen Booher. Video is ready for purchase now. Richard Marino of LarMar Video Productions will sell video for $10.00 each.
