Welcome to the GCPTA

The Gulf Coast Process Technology Alliance (GCPTA) is a regional alliance made up of industry representatives and education providers who are responsible for developing, improving and maintaining the standardized Process Technology (PTEC™) curriculum at colleges in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi. PTEC is the standardized curriculum for a two-year associate of applied science degree that prepares students to work as process operators in process technology industries. These areas include chemical, oil and gas production, refining and exploration, pharmaceutical, timber and power generation, among others.

The GCPTA is the standard-bearer of the PTEC curriculum. The GCPTA audits PTEC degree programs in three of the Gulf Coast states and endorses those that meet its criteria. Several colleges in Mississippi, Texas and Louisiana have received the GCPTA endorsement.

The GCPTA Instructor Skills Workshop will be held on May 19 through 21 at Lamar Institute of Technology in Beaumont, TX.  Click Here for more details.
